چکیده

This research proposes a TSPcut controller that enables connected and automated buses to cut through traffic make TSP green light. The proposed overcomes the shortcomings of conventional strategies is able to: 1) overtake slowing moving vehicles in order catch time; 2) decide best time pass intersection; 3) considering stochasticity surrounding traffic; 4) functional under partially environment. It takes full advantage vehicle technology by taking real-time infrastructure information as optimization input. problem formulated an SMPC solved high-efficient dynamic programming algorithm. nonlinear bicycle model adopted system dynamics realize CAV bus’s lane-changing overtaking function. considered probability distribution which transformed into linear chance constraint. Simulation evaluation conduct compare against NTSP, CTSP BocTSP. Sensitive analysis conducted for congestion levels. results demonstrate improves bus delay reduction 17.9%–49.1%, benefits are 3.5% 16.1% greater than other systems. range caused different In addition. Further tests analyze how arrival speed background influence performance TSPcut.

Transit signal priority accommodating conflicting requests under Connected Vehicles technology

In this research, a person-delay-based optimization method is proposed for an intelligent Transit Signal Priority (TSP) logic that resolves multiple conflicting TSP requests at an isolated intersection. This TSP with Connected Vehicles accommodating Conflicting Requests (TSPCV-CR) overcomes the challenge bore by the conventional ‘‘first come first serve” strategy and presents significant improv...

Real-Time Traffic Signal Intelligent Control with Transit-Priority

This paper proposes a real-time traffic signal intelligent control method with transit-priority. The objective of this control method is to reduce the delays of passengers and special vehicles. Transit-priority is divided into the special transit-priority which is an absolute priority and the normal transit-priority which is a relative priority. When the detectors in the red phase detect specia...

Coordinated transit signal priority supporting transit progression under Connected Vehicle Technology

In this paper, a person-delay-based optimization method is proposed for an intelligent TSP logic that enables bus/signal cooperation and coordination among consecutive signals under the Connected Vehicle environment. This TSP logic, called TSPCV-C, provides a method to secure the mobility benefit generated by the intelligent TSP logic along a corridor so that the bus delay saved at an upstream ...

Transit Signal Priority: Proposing a Novel Algorithm to Decrease Delay and Environmental Impacts in BRT Route Intersections

Intersections are considered as the most critical parts of the bus rapid transit (BRT) system. Transit signal priority is one of the efficient solutions to reduce BRT fleet delays at intersections. The aim of this study is to propose a new algorithm to decrease the BRT fleet delays at actuated intersections, while reducing the negative impacts on different approaches. The adaptive strategy is a...

Signal Progression Impacts on Transit Buses as Travel Time Probes

With the deployment Automatic Vehicle Location systems to monitor transit vehicles (and other fleet vehicles), there have been several efforts in recent years that seek to leverage these data to also obtain arterial travel times for the private vehicle population. The fleet vehicle data capture the traffic conditions, but they also capture behavior unique to the fleet, e.g., servicing passenger...
